Digital Making process

Softwares

During the process of making, there are total of two computational softwares: Blender and Clo3d.

Creating textures

First of all, I crafted the unique textures for each body parts of the avatar using blender. To communicate my storyline, the surface design are meant to simulate the decomposed texture of a corpse.

Assembling the whole avatar

The body of the avatar is slightly altered after exported from Clo3d, however, the hair of the avatar is completely modeled in blender. By the end, i imposed my newly created texture to the avatar to complete the look.

Environment making

Then, I move on to create my environment. To further enrich the scene, I decided to include a fish tank that serves as a window to store the garment. Firstly, drafted the fish tank using basic geometric shapes in blender. Next, import the file into Clo3d to check the size of the fish tank. Finally, find the ideal fish tank texture online and HDRI environment. At the end, I decided to move the fishes outside of the fish tank for a better visibility.

Decorative Elements

The tall seaweed and floating garbages around the fish tank are also original works, their purpose is to emphasis on the issue of marine pollution that I wanted to address through this project. After setting up the environment, the last job is to set up camera and wait for the render result.
